(ITC-DC) Overview

The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 boosts residential solar projects with an extra 10% ITC for using U.S.-made materials.

LightReach offers the option to enroll in the Domestic Content (ITC-DC) program. This process is optional for qualified installers and will require specific parameters (details below) to be met to be eligible for domestic content benefits. It is important to note that the DC Eligible Equipment is subject to change and will require strict adherence.

To be eligible for domestic content pricing, the equipment selected on the install must meet 45% domestic content value.

(ITC-DC) Installer Enrollment

Who Can Enroll?

To be eligible to participate in the Domestic Content program, your organization must be an Elite or Platinum level partner.

What's Required?

1) Example BOM (Bill of Materials) that Installer intends to use

2) Sales Forecast

3) Addendum Signature

Installer Expectations

1) Installer must be in good standing with LightReach, including install approval rates and compliance.

2) LightReach will review requests in the order in which they were received. This process may take a few days. Partners should review status updates on their ticket.

3) Out of fairness to all partners on the platform, LightReach support cannot expedite enrollment requests.

How to Enroll

Via Support Center Chat. Click for Visual.

Authorized organization personnel can chat in via support chat, selecting the "Installer: Organization Settings" queue, and the "G) Domestic Content Enrollment" selection when prompted.

(ITC-DC) Quoting and Pricing

All sales will follow typical M0 Guidelines to receive NTP.

After an organization has enrolled in ITC-DC, distinct domestic content pricing will appear in the quoting tool when creating a quote. Once the quote has been created for a project, it will resemble the image below in the quoting tab:

  • The "DC Boost" will specify the pricing for a project where ITC-DC equipment is installed and the project reaches the 45% domestic content value threshold.

  • The quote will also display the "Non-DC price" or the pricing the project will revert to should the installer not enroll to pursue ITC-DC on the project.

(ITC-DC) Eligible Equipment & Calculator

Equipment that will qualify for domestic content eligibility is listed below, and is on our general AVL.

  • Use the Calculator: DC percentage and qualification of each SKU will be determined by the use of the calculator issued to each partner. Calculators will soon be available directly in the LightReach portal.

  • Threshold: To be eligible for domestic content pricing, the equipment combination used on the install must meet the 45% domestic content value threshold to be eligible.

  • Equipment Eligibility is subject to change.

(ITC-DC) Milestone Attestation

Organization “enrollment” for Domestic Content is for 100% of projects. However, an EPC will confirm at the Install Milestone submission on an individual account level if domestic content was used.

Organizations will complete an Attestation at M1 submission, where the org must indicate whether the installation used Domestic Content or not.

  • Yes, ITC-DC was used = Install will be reviewed for ITC-DC requirements

  • No, ITC-DC was not used = Install will be reviewed as a standard review + pricing will adjust back to standard "Non-DC price" amounts.

How it Works in the Portal: Click for Visual

When submitting for Installation milestone, Installers will indicate if the project is ITC-DC:

When finalizing your submission for M1 Installation review if the project is ITC-DC eligible, you will confirm this prior to the submission:

(ITC-DC) M1 Requirements

Outside of the standard M1 Submission Package Deliverables and Photosets required at the M1 Installation Milestone, organizations will need to provide additional documentation that a submitted install has qualified for Domestic Content pricing and benefits.

(ITC-DC) FAQ

1

Is Domestic Content Mandatory?

No, the program is optional

2

My Org is enabled with Direct pay, can we participate in Domestic Content?

Yes

3

How do I Enroll?

Please refer to Section B for more information on how to enroll.

4

If I'm enrolled, but my team sells in an external sales portal, how do I view ITC-DC values?

External sales portals, such as Solo, will display the ITC-DC values (higher values).

Both ITC-DC and standard values are visible in the LightReach portal for convenience.

5

How can I calculate whether my project is eligible for Domestic Content?

Use the DC AVL (Above) to help guide eligible combinations.

The DC calculator is the source of truth for specific SKUs that qualify

6

Will Domestic Content projects receive conditional approvals?

Domestic Content projects will NOT be conditionally approved at install. Partners will need to either provide sufficient proof OR “opt out” of Domestic Content for the project to proceed with the non-DC boost pricing.

7

What % do I need to achieve to have a project qualify for ITC-DC?

As of the latest federal update in June 2025, a 45% domestic content value threshold is required to be met, but installers should bear in mind that this number is subject to change. Previously, the level was 40% prior to updated legislative changes.

8

Will Storage selection provide an additional boost on ITC-DC pricing?

This will be a future functionality of the LightReach Domestic Content program, but is not live at present.

9

Can I use multiple hardware manufacturers/OEMs?

No, mounting hardware with multiple OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) is not permitted.

All racking components used on any given site must be from the same manufacturer.

Case by case flexibility may be provided in the case of Module-Mount MLPE fasteners from other OEMs are necessary. Please contact your relationship manager in advance for potential options.
