Once you send a water heater contract, the price and equipment are locked. If something changes, you need a change order: a new quote and a new signed contract.
What triggers a change order?
Change | What it covers | Result |
Customer name, or adding or removing a customer | Any change to the applicants or their names | New contract signature required |
Address | Property address | New contract signature required |
Price, payment or rate | Any change to the price | New contract signature required |
Equipment | A different water heater than the one on the contract | New contract signature required |
Palmetto may also ask for a change order for things like typos in customer details.
When the job changes on site
Water heater jobs change. The tank turns out to need a new stand, or the venting needs work. You can absorb the extra cost, or do a change order. Any change to the price requires a change order.
At install review, QC checks that your install contract total is within $100 of the financed amount. If the price changed, complete the change order before you submit the install package. See Water Heater: Installation Requirements.
Step by step
Void the current contract.
Void the current quote.
Create a new quote, then select and save it.
Send the new contract.
Things to know
Palmetto support can guide you through a change order, but can't change pricing or complete a price-related change order for you. Quote selection is your responsibility.
Price or equipment changes don't take effect until the new contract is signed.
