Geothermal: Warranty & Service Information

The Palmetto Comfort Plan is designed to provide homeowners with a "worry-free" experience by integrating comprehensive warranty, maintenance, and service coverage into a single monthly lease payment.

Palmetto's Geothermal Heat Pump (GSHP) program utilizes a structured warranty and verification process to ensure long-term system reliability.

Below is a breakdown of the warranty terms, registration requirements, and the compliance gates that trigger coverage.

Core Warranty Features

The plan shifts the risk of system longevity and unexpected repair costs away from the homeowner through several key protections:

  • Full Term Parts & Labor Coverage: Unlike standard HVAC purchases where labor is often only covered for a short period, the Comfort Plan includes both OEM parts and labor for the entire duration of the agreement.

  • 10-Year Term: Standard coverage spans a 10-year term, typically with auto-renewal options.

  • No Upfront Cost: All warranty and service protections are included in the monthly rate, eliminating large, unexpected out-of-pocket expenses.

  • Required Data Fields for Registration:

    • Serial Number

    • Make/Model

    • Manufacturer

PALMETTO BACKSTOP If OEM labor allowance falls short, Palmetto covers the gap at competitive market rates.

Service & Maintenance Program

Proactive maintenance is a cornerstone of the plan to ensure long-term system efficiency.

Dealer and Partner Obligations

Partner: familiar OEM warranty procedure + Palmetto backstop on overages.

Warranty fulfillment is a collaborative effort between Palmetto and its local contractor partners:

  • Right of First Refusal (ROFR): Partner contractors retain the right to perform all service and maintenance work throughout the term.

  • OEM Claims: Partners utilize standard OEM claims processes for parts, while Palmetto manages the overarching service contract.

  • Quality Standards: All systems must be designed to IGSHPA standards to ensure they are "bankable," long-life energy assets.

Customer Rights and Responsibilities

Customer: no out-of-pocket expenses for maintenance and repairs. All in the monthly lease. Peace of mind by design.

To maintain warranty validity, customers have specific obligations:

  • Proper Use: Customers must ensure equipment is used according to manufacturer guidelines.

  • Data Rights: Customers grant data rights for monitoring and performance management.

  • System Buyout/Transfer: In the event of a home sale, customers can transfer the agreement or buy out the system, which includes the remaining warranty value.
