Compliance: Solar Energy Plan Partner Onboarding Requirements

Overview:

Palmetto LightReach follows a standardized onboarding process for all partners interested in our Solar Energy Plan offering.

The following sections outline the key categories and requirements for onboarding.


Licensure & State Compliance

  • Active Electrical / Solar License

  • General Contractor License (if applicable by state)

  • Battery/Storage Certification (if offering storage)

  • Sales Rep Compliance: Required for California, Connecticut, Illinois, and Nevada upon portal access.

    Your firm must hold all licenses required in the states where you plan to sell and install LightReach products.

Insurance Requirements

  • Umbrella/Excess Liability: $1M per occurrence (or $2M per occurrence General Liability in place of Umbrella/Excess).

  • Errors & Omissions (E&O) / Professional Liability: $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate (if applicable).

E&O Exceptions: If design/engineering services are outsourced, you must provide either:

  • The firm or platform name.

  • A Certificate of Insurance from that firm showing E&O coverage.

Company & Founder Reputational Review

  • Background check

  • Safety Manual: Must cover PPE, fall protection, ladder safety, electrical safety, and a drug-free workplace.

  • Reputational Review: Review of BBB, Google, and UCC/lien status.

Financial & Operational Requirements

  • Bank Account Verification Letter

  • W9 Form

  • Most Recent Financials: Must include both a Balance Sheet and Income Statement.

  • Operating History: A minimum of 2 years in active business operations is required.
