Water Heater: Approved Vendor List (AVL)

Gas: tank or tankless. Electric: tank, tankless or heat pump.

Conversions are covered: gas to electric, tank to tankless, and standard to heat pump

Water heaters are approved by brand. Any model from a brand in the table below qualifies, as long as the manufacturer covers parts for at least 5 years.

Whirlpool isn't approved at this time. Essency and Sanco2 are under review.

Accessories aren't separate line items for system design, contracting or warranty.

Additional system components can be included in the base pricing and warranty coverage (e.g. ducting kit, expansion tank, condensate pump, vacuum breaker, powered anode rod, or spin down filter)

Plumbing work around the tank can also be included in the base price: sediment trap, re-pipe, stand, drain pan, mixing valve, gas line, venting, and permit fees. A new 240V circuit for a heat pump water heater is allowed. Other items can be included only when code requires them.
