Monitoring Portal Access (M1)

Granting LightReach access to the monitoring portal directly is a requirement for M1 approval.

Disclaimer: Full system activation is required for M1 approval. Any site that is pending interconnection due to MPU, Backup Switch, Meter Collar, etc. will be allowed to proceed without access.

LightReach must be granted access as system owner and have full monitoring access in order to properly monitor and maintain systems. Below are details for executing as part of the requirements. In general, Installers should expect to:

  1. Ensure full activation and provide monitoring access

  2. Designate Palmetto as system owner

  3. Submit the monitoring ID

  4. Make sure to "Save"

What to Submit

All installation submissions must provide:

  1. The monitoring site ID for the PV system

  2. If Battery Installed: Battery monitoring ID (*See Details below)

The monitoring ID is typically 7-9 digits, and is created from the manufacturer's monitoring site, after the site is commissioned (aka physically tested on site).

Requirements for Installation M1 submissions:

  1. Monitoring site IDs must be provided

  2. Full system activation and sharing direct portal access (DPA) to LightReach

Examples of Site IDs:

  • SolarEdge, typically 7 digits

  • Taken from the SolarEdge monitoring portal (monitoring.solaredge.com)

  • Enphase, typically 7 digits

  • Taken from the Enphase monitoring portal (enlighten.enphaseenergy.com)

  • Tesla, typically longer than 7-9 digits

  • Taken from the Tesla site URL as either a numerical or alphanumerical string (powerhub.energy.tesla.com)

  • QCells, typically 9 digits

  • Taken from the QCells site URL as a numerical string (us.qommand.qcells.com)

Battery Monitoring ID (If Applicable)

If Battery & Inverter are the same manufacturer: Battery monitoring ID is the same site ID number.

If Battery & Inverter are different manufacturers: There will be two separate site IDs. This will be in the same format as the above examples.

  • Enphase Inverter: Provide site ID per above sample

  • Tesla Battery: Provide site ID per above sample

To provide access to Palmetto for SolarEdge sites, use the Associated Account option. In your Account menu, select the Associated Accounts tab, and select +Add Associated Account. Use [email protected] to grant access.

Action Needed: SolarEdge portal requires Palmetto to manually approve the request for new EPC association - Once complete (one time approval needed) and Palmetto is associated, 1 Palmetto Solar will appear as a selectable account to grant visibility to individual project sites. Please note that you will need to manually grant access on each individual site:

  • Next, proceed to: Set Access Control

    • Site access policy: Per site

    • Access level limit: View/Edit

  • Grant access from ‘Admin’ tab of individual site

  • Edit access level to ‘View/Edit’ - This ensures Palmetto only has access to specific sites, and that we have edit controls

Is maintainer Access Required for M1 Approval?

  • ONLY for Enphase systems at this time, but look for updates in the near future.

How can I check if Maintainer access was given?

Enphase: Palmetto P is in the corner of the monitoring or check in the settings tab (gear) to confirm the maintainer at the bottom.

SolarEdge: Palmetto Lightreach will need to be assigned View/Edit access (or "full access"). This is checked by going to the Admin tab on the right of the platform. The below images are a project level view of the Associated Account access. Once the previous guidance is complete on the company account level, you will be able to associate accounts on the project level. Be sure to verify that "View/Edit" is provided at the project level as the images below indicate.

In the above image, we can see proper access granted on the left, with incorrect access level of “View Only” on the right. Be sure to verify that "View/Edit" is provided at the project level as the images above indicate.
